The Nikon D600 is very good for astrophotography. For the price it delivers a very sensitive full frame sensor and of course a nice camera for daytime photography as well. I’ve been using the Nikon D600 for astrophotography and I must say I am impressed. When taking more scenic pictures or photographing the aurora and/or timelapses I can easily use it at ISO3200 and still get good results. Normally I would use the Nikon D600 at ISO 800 however and it has significantly less noise than the D7000 that I was used to.

Aurora photography from the Netherlands
Yesterday we actually got the chance to witness the aurora from my ‘regular dark spot’ near my hometown, which is located at 52 degrees north. Pretty rare to be able to see and capture the northern lights from this location!
