The Nikon D600 is very good for astrophotography. For the price it delivers a very sensitive full frame sensor and of course a nice camera for daytime photography as well. I’ve been using the Nikon D600 for astrophotography and I must say I am impressed. When taking more scenic pictures or photographing the aurora and/or timelapses I can easily use it at ISO3200 and still get good results. Normally I would use the Nikon D600 at ISO 800 however and it has significantly less noise than the D7000 that I was used to.

This is a 3 panel wide field mosaic of NGC6604, M16 and M17 in H-alpha, OIII and RGB. Also in the same field of view are M18 and IC4701, along with a view more open star clusters and nebulas.
